Sinclair’s “Book”

The following review was posted over at The Regulator on Sunday, August 9, 2009.   The review was also linked in an article that Dave Weigel wrote in the Washington Independent on Orly Taitz.   The link to that review is in the title of Sinclair’s book in which Weigel connects to my review.

Larry Sinclair has written a book.  The title, Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex Lies & Murder? is quite provocative and eye catching to the untrained eye.  Knowing Mr. Sinclair’s penchant to be in front of any issue at all times, could one have expected anything less?   Personally, I would have named the book, The World According to Larry Sinclair: We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Proof!

This book, which offers no evidence at all that a meeting between then State Senator Barack Obama, (who happened to be in a high profile race for the Democratic Congressional seat for his district against Bobby Rush,)  and Sinclair ever took place, as the author has claimed.

Its based on the author’s word alone, absent any RELIABLE documentation, physical proof and or corroboration from the Limo Driver, Bartender at the “Upscale” Lounge, Hotel Clerk, etc., that the events as described by Sinclair in his book, ever took place.

The “book” begins with a dedication In memory of Donald Young. In his “dedication” Sinclair claims that Donald Young died “for no other reason than to protect the image of Barack Obama.” He also claims that Young’s untimely death prevented the world from knowing that Barack Obama was a closet homosexual.  The problem with Sinclair’s declaration, (as with everything about the “book”) is simply a matter of lack of evidence for his allegations and a lot of blustering.  Sinclair’s “book” is designed to appease those who have followed and believed Sinclair these past 18 months,  as well as those who simply cannot stand Obama and would like to see ANYTHING take him down.

It doesn’t matter that they have FAILED at every turn to stop Barack Obama from becoming the President of The United States of America.  It doesn’t matter that the mindset of “birthers” , Larry supporters and other fringe nut groups and their GOP authoritarian leaders never have substantive evidence to support their claims against Obama.  To them, facts get in the way of their emotions.  One could definitely say the same for the author of this “book”.

The Forward, written by Jeff Rense, who wikipedia describes as “…an American conspiracy theorist and radio talk-show host of the Jeff Rense Program, broadcast on US satellite radio via Genesis Communications Network (GCN) and Internet radio, once again, has no corroborating evidence for Rense’s claims.  One claim is that he has spent fifteen years interviewing many people with many strange stories.  Rense says he  has a “sense” that Sinclair is telling the truth.  I have a sense that Rense had a problem with Barack Obama long before he was introduced to Sinclair, just as most of Sinclair’s followers.  To them, it appears,  Sinclair came along and gave them a valid ( read: politically correct) reason why they could openly express their dislike for Obama.

Inside the book, we are treated to an ‘Introduction’ which spews more declarative statements without evidence.  With the exception of the first chapter, which covers Sinclair’s “criminal years” (according to Sinclair), the entire book is filled with diatribes, innuendos and unsubstantiated narratives.

This tiny little “book”  pretends to be the GREAT work of a GREAT up and coming author, at least according to Sinclair supporters.  The fact is, it’s a self published piece of drivel that only his supporters will buy.  I will concede I purchased this piece of trash because Sinclair had something to say about me in his book. Needless to say, I have covered how I feel about that in previous posts.

The lies in the book are too numerous to recount here.  Suffice it to say, this “book” appears to be the “revenge” effort of what appears to be a  poor little sociopath who did not get the attention he craved from many groups of people when he initially brought this story to public awareness.

Sinclair mentions early on in his book about how his temper tantrums as a young boy had elevated to the point where his family’s Baptist minister suggested they have the unruly child EXORCISED.  That explains a lot about Sinclair’s current behavior and personality manifestation.  Apparently that temperamental child still exists in the form of the author of  Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex Lies & Murder?

Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex Lies & Murder? Is nothing more than a piece of drivel scripted by a con man and his enablers.  Its a poorly written narrative about an eternal victim, by that eternal victim, to elicit sympathy, support and anger.  What bothers me is that none of his supporters have ever asked for or required proof of what Sinclair has been saying for the last 18 months.

Sinclair has filled 40% of his book with letters and documents that can be found on his old sites.  The “book” is 50% filled with rehashed garbage, accusations and “they keep threatening me” screed that can also be found on Sinclair’s various blogs.

The last 10% of the book is fodder for his lemmings.  Something to make them buy the book and to pass the word around.  It contains a chapter on “The Hillary Connection” and allegedly “names names” and provides telephone numbers (for what purpose, I don’t know.)  Of course the other “hook” (no pun intended) is the chapter (more like paragraphs) describing Obama’s penis.  That “chapter” is entitled “The Physical Description” and is the final chapter in the book.

At the very end of the book Sinclair once again demonizes something or some group to make himself look as innocent as a lamb.  Throughout the “book” he calls people who oppose him names which implies that he KNOWS this to be true, that these people/groups ARE what he calls them because they have gone after him.  How dare they go after Sinclair, he implies, when all he wants to do is “get the truth out”?  He ends the “book” on one “irrefutable” fact, according to the world of Sinclair:

“The bottom line is that no one can say I am being untruthful, because none of you were there.”

Sinclair continues: However Barack Obama and his organized “machine”  know that my states [sic] are TRUE. Despite the continuing threats harassment and personal attacks, I can take complete refuge and serenity in knowing that I am telling the truth; nothing but the truth; so help me God.”

Nice dramatic touch to appease his audience, no doubt.  After all, one has to provide some sort of dramatic climax to a book filled with lies, suppositions and innuendos with absolutely NO PROOF WHATSOEVER.

I find it curious that no where in Sinclair’s book do I find any mention of an effort on HIS or his enablers’ part to search for or obtain evidence that would substantiate his claim.  Perhaps if Mr. Sinclair had spent more time in trying to prove his own story instead of digging for dirt on his detractors, there might have been at least an iota of credibility regarding his book.

Bottom Line: “If writing a really bad book was a crime, this piece of shit would be punishable by a life sentence.”
