New Awesome Post At The The Regulator Too!

Setting One Point Straight is an extensive post by Meesh, dissecting Sinclair’s recent post about me (Sheila Bryant) on his news site.

It’s well worth the read.   Meesh  has gathered documented evidence to show Sinclair is still lying, even when he professes to be telling the truth while bashing me.

I couldn’t have written the post any better.  In fact, too much emotion and anger would have gone into the same piece had I written it.

I hope you stop by The Regulator Too and take a look.  You won’t be disappointed.  Meesh has actually decoded  most if not all of Sinclair’s lies in the his article.

The original article by Sinclair can be found here…

Larry Sinclair scrubs yet another website…

Another one bites the dust.

Sinclair hated the now defunct Regulator and has shown signs of his ardent dislike for the quite active The Regulator Too.  Too bad…because the work to expose his lying, grifting persona continues.

Actually, Sinclair probably forgot http://spinc1961.wordpress.com/ was still live on line until today when he deleted it.  Our friend Meesh had  grabbed a lot of quotes off the site to demonstrate Sinclair’s duplicity.

It’s my view that Sinclair wants to scrub everything he can that proves his detractors right about him.  For instance, what would an alleged “upstanding” citizen who once ran for Congress as an independent have to hide about his own Congressional site?  We’ll never know because he deleted it.

Why would Sinclair delete about six or seven websites and several videos and audio files that he once made public?  The only thing I can think of is that he didn’t want to leave evidence of some of his unbelievably warped mindset when it came to Obama and people like me who can see through the very thin facade of “legitimacy” like Sinclair News.

I will say that I have several captured copies of some of his crazier rants and will probably begin uploading them soon.

Once again, what does Larry Sinclair have to hide by scrubbing so many of his websites?  Will Sinclair News go the way of the others soon?

Some people Say…7-14-2012

Larry Sinclair is jubilant because the defamation case against him has ended.  It didn’t end with a verdict, the plaintiff simply decided to stop the litigation.

United States Court of Appeals for District of Columbia Circuit

Notice of Docket Activity

The following transaction was entered on 07/13/2012 at 5:01:51 PM EDT and filed on 07/13/2012
Case Name: Daniel Parisi, et al v. Amazon.com, Inc., et al
Case Number: 11-7077
Document(s): Document(s)

Docket Text:
STIPULATION filed [1383674] to dismiss case voluntarily [11-7077] (Oparil, Richard)

Sinclair or a surrogate wrote the following:

Mr. Sinclair states: “I am thrilled with the final outcome of this matter. I have always stood by the content of my book. Perhaps now that this litigation which I personally believe was nothing more than a vindictive attempt to smear me and others is over, plaintiffs will find something more productive to do with their time and money.” “I would not be honest if I did not make it clear I am of the OPINION this litigation was brought as a means of trying to curry favor with an Obama White House whether originating with plaintiffs or counsel representing plaintiffs,” added Sinclair.

OK, let’s all take a minute to remember a few basic points: 1. The case never involved his claims about Obama. It was about his statements concerning Parisi. 2. He didn’t win the case. Parisi simply failed to prove that he had grounds to sue based upon his inability to back his claims that the stupid book had cost him millions of dollars of lost business. 3. The outcome of the case was not based upon anything to do with the possible truthfulness or non-truthfulness of his stupid book. It all had to do with Parisi’s claim of business damage.

Parisi most likely dropped the appeal because of the cost of continuing the legal proceedings. SinkLiar was completely irrelevant to the whole thing. He mostly provided the judge with a few moments of cheap laughs.

July 14, 2012 3:37 pm
I think the court also ruled that Parisi was a limited public figure, which makes it harder for a libel/slander/defamation case to proceed.
July 14, 2012 4:12 pm

“…and the vicious and personal attacks leveled against him by Parisi and Parisi counsel Richard J. Oparil”

BTW, I seem to recall that the only personal attacks were all unloaded by Fat Butt who was determined to provoke Oparil by any and all possible means. Or am I misremembering this…nope.

I find it totally ironic that when the shoe is on the other foot, once again the whining Mr. Sinclair claims he’s the victim. When Sinclair tried to sue three bloggers and lost the case, he was quick to broadcast a fatwa of sorts, telling his followers he’d pay $5000.00 to whoever got the name and address of a particular blogger defendant.

The case was thrown out because it was deemed by the Judge that Sinclair was a public figure and thus had no protection against the bloggers’ First Amendment right to criticize Sinclair.  That infuriated him to no end, but when a similar case of defamation was filed against him, throughout the two plus years, he always wrote about being victimized by the plaintiff’s, the Court and if I recall correctly, even the White House.

The Make Over Of Larry Sinclair

Larry Sinclair appears to be trying to change his image by lending his name to a “legitimate news site”.  Yet, this reminds me of a snake shedding his skin…in the end, the snake is still a snake.

Sinclair News is the internet news portion of LS News Group which includes an internet radio show and other media.

The point is that the “old” Larry Sinclair who would write about and attack his detractors with impunity seems to have disappeared.  Actually I must emphasize the word “seems”.   It wasn’t long ago that his articles in the New Hampshire Journal online news site, pretty much attacked the “usual suspects” who Sinclair imagines to be his arch enemies solely because we have backed up our reports of his lies about an “affair” with Barack Obama in 1999, with proof from his own contradictions to the story as well as the numerous changes he has made to the original “story”.   Also, his “Donald Young” meme is absent of any concrete proof or corroborating evidence to everything he has written over the years.

One last thing, it also appears that Sinclair is being handled and “prepped” to make him look more legitimate and less “batshit insane” by using his name as a media outlet, thus gaining access to political events this spring and fall in which he might try to get his message out in a more stealthy manner.

Of course this is merely speculation on my part, but after studying Sinclair for four years now, I can tell that he now has handlers and that those handlers are working at “legitimizing” him so that when the height of the general campaign occurs, he can retell his story and hopefully the media will listen.

However, I am almost certain (there’s always some modicum of uncertainty with these politically propped up make-overs) that those news outlets who remember the nutty Sinclair of 2008 – 2011 will not buy into this so called “clean” version of the Larry Sinclair brand.

A Closer Look At Larry Sinclair’s Inconsistent Story – Part 2

Sinclair’s advocates might say that everything that we are saying about Larry Sinclair is a lie.  The problem with that statement, however, is that I and others have used Sinclair’s own words.

Some might say that anyone is entitled to forget a fact or remember something different later on.  I would suggest to that person that in a normal situation, that would be absolutely true.

However, changing one’s story, embellishing details or taking away details along with changing  timelines seem to be on its face, what it really is…A LIE.

Let’s get started:

06/18/08: National Press Conference with Larry Sinclair

 QUESTIONER: ‘Why didn’t you keep your cell phone records when Mr. Young called you? Were you billed for the cell phone?’

 SINCLAIR: ‘I have personally contacted Sprint/Nextel approximately two weeks ago…uh…asking that they dig up the records off of their system for each of those phone numbers from those periods and provide them to us… they have confirmed that those records are available.’

 QUESTIONER: ‘Are you going to post those on your website as well?’

 SINCLAIR: ‘I will.’

Contradiction 5 weeks later:

07/24/08: Rense Interview

 ‘…what I’m finding absolutely amazing is, this is a firm that also represents Sprint Nextel corporation. The same phone company that is telling me they can not find me my phone records.’ Part 2: The Gay Angle

More…

Timeline of encounters:

- June 9th, 2011: Larry says he did drugs with and performed oral sex on Obama the evening of Saturday, November 6th 1999 and again in the afternoon of Sunday, November 7th, 1999. Larry claims he flew back to Colorado the morning of November 8th.

- January 18, 2008: Larry claims in his YouTube video that he performed oral sex on Obama between November 3rd and November 8th of 1999 and that TWO days elapsed between the encounter in the limo and the encounter in the hotel room.

How he contacted the Obama campaign:

- June 9th, 2011: Says he called the campaign in September of 2007, quickly resulting in a series of phone calls and texts from Donald Young.

Versus:

- January 23, 2008: Tells Jeff Rense on his radio show he had emailed the campaign and had been ignored.  He never mentions having called the campaign, let alone having a series of phone, email or text conversations with anyone. No, he says he was completely ignored.

- February 17th, 2008: Tells Cao on her radio show that when he contacted the campaign that he was ignored in the hopes that he’d go away. The campaign simply failed to respond to him at all. Says he emailed Axelrod’s office because he didn’t have direct email address for Axelrod himself. Says a reporter finally encouraged him to put his story on YouTube.

A caller to that show, going by the handle “Helper”, asks Larry what he would have done if the campaign had ever told him outright that they were going to ignore his allegations. Larry’s reply: “Then I probably would have posted the YouTube video a lot sooner than I did.”

- March 10, 2008: In what Sinclair called “a bombshell”, Larry mentions, on the Jeff Rense Show, a ‘Paul Young’ and says he did have contact with him. He then corrects himself and says it was Donald Young and that it was his understanding that Young was gay.

- April 1, 2008: Larry files an affidavit with the CPD saying he was contacted by a “Mr. Young”, representing the Obama campaign, beginning in late September of 2007. So which is it? The campaign never responded to Larry and in fact ignored him? Or he was getting regular calls and texts from Donald Young?

Why he contacted the Obama Campaign

The above link demonstrates yet another contradiction on a lie that Sinclair told about why he wanted Obama to “come clean about his drug use”.  After the above post went public, he deleted the meme from his story*.  In fact in his book, he says something different.

The original lie:

 Sinclair then claimed that the reason he came forward with the You Tube video on January 17, 2008 was because the Obama camp had ignored his repeated calls.

All he wanted Obama to do, according to Sinclair, was to “come clean” about his drug use as an adult.   Sinclair claimed that he saw Obama address some kids about his drug use.   Sinclair told supporters,that’s the reason he contacted the Obama camp in September, 2007.  He wanted Obama to tell the ”truth”, which in Sinclair’s mind was that Obama did drugs as an adult in November, 1999.)

Versus what he said in his book: (After his original lie was blown out of the water!)

It was late August, early September, 2007 that I decided that it was time to contact Barack Obama and request that he publicly correct his lies about the extent of his drug use.  I had come to this decision after repeatedly watching coverage on the likes of MSNBC, etc.,where the hype about Barack Obama being this “new kind of politics” and this “completely open and transparent candidate” had already started to get old.

*[EDITOR'S NOTE:] Ruh Roh, one of the many really smart regulars over at The Regulator brought this to my attention in two comments:

Apparently Sinclair has started using the old lie about seeing Obama talk to a kid or kids about drugs and how that motivated him (Sinclair) to contact the Obama campaign.   Now, that is a total contradiction from what he wrote in his book!

Ruh Roh’s comments:

kstreet,

Larry returns to his story about deciding to contact the Obama campaign after seeing Obama tell some schoolkids that he had ended his drug use in college in his most recent interview, dated June 9 2011 http://longliveamerica.com/previous-shows/. However, in this interview he says it was at a college in the Philadelphia area (Larry was rattling off the names of colleges and universities, not high schools). In that same interview, he implores people to read his book in order to get the ‘facts’ straight from him, even though the interview contradicts the book. LOL

kstreet,

Here’s a link to the transcript of the interview: http://theregulator.net/?p=9652#comment-136385

And the relevant quote:

 ” So in 2007, after he announced he was running, I just happened to see a news report and I swear to this day I still think it was on MSNBC, where people were asking what it was about Barack Obama that got them so excited. And I believe him and Hilary both had scheduled uh speaking arrangements or engagements around Temple in Pennsylvania or Penn Sta-I’m not sure which school- but there was something going on in the Philadelphia area with the two of them. And I’m listening to this one girl on the news report saying that she thought that he was just, ya know, open and honest and she admired him for being honest about, ya know, his drug use and, and, and everything and I’m like wait a minute, he’s not being honest because everything I’ve read, the guy swore up and down that he, at first, he didn’t do anything other than weed, then he comes out and says OK, ya know, he did blow when he could afford it, uh then it came out that he hadn’t done anything since high school, then of course that changed to where he was saying that well, no, every now and then in college.

So what I did was I contacted the Obama campaign in September of 2007. ”

Minutes later, in the same interview, Larry says: “Lemme tell you something, and that’s what I want. I want people to read the book. Don’t read what you find on the internet because people have taken bits and pieces and twisted it, you know, to fit their, um, agenda. ”

Even though he just related a different story regarding what motivated him to go public with his accusations than the one he relates in his book!

 On Wednesday Part 3 - The Limo Driver contradictions

“A mind is like a parachute. If it doesn’t open, you’re fucked!”

It appears that  Larry Sinclair’s parachute never opened…period.

Consider this statement (among thousands of others):

Today we received records which were requested concerning Larry’s suicide attempt last September 27th. While reading the records we came across not one, not two, but four (4) Progress Reports and one (1) Discharge Summary where West Virginia Doctors “diagnosed” Larry as being HIV Positive. Not only did these Doctors make this incorrect diagnosis repeatedly, they did so without EVER having performed a single HIV test.

First of all his Queen Victorian style use of “we” is absolutely hilarious.  Larry Sinclair would not divulge any TRUE information about his “attempted” suicide nor his HIV status or lack thereof to anyone.  It’s his nature to be manipulative and secretive.  When he publishes these types of posts, one can rest assured that they are contrived and filled with lies.

Secondly, he seems to enjoy picking on people as well as playing the eternal victim.  Most of Sinclair’s posts (with a few exceptions) focus on himself as the victim.  The perpetual whining and blame game that Sinclair plays is obviously his tried and true method to keep his “sicko-phants” engaged in his “plight” of victimhood by continuously sending him money.

This is merely an act OR as Gilligan over at The Regulator calls it…his “Sybil” persona.

gilligansays:

Yankee,

This is so goddamn funny–here’s Sybil, all manic and raging long into the night about what happened after he downed all those tic tacs. I bet he never expected his fat ass would be hauled away to a looney bin–but I just bet those friendly folks with the USSS had just had it up to here with his bullshit, had to work to find the cocksucker, and told the sheriff to put him away–and given what they know about him, they have predicted exactly how he’d react and how he’s reacting now.

I wonder if Larrd’s going to sue them, too? You can bet the FatBoy file is about two feet thick, minimum–all his juvvie stuff, all his prison records, state records (and that’s a lot of states), family, friends, associates…and I can think of a few investigatory tools they’re using on him now, and certainly enjoying him twist, turn and tying himself into knots.

Then there is this an online response to letters received from the hospital about his allege HIV status:

Dr. Hiles amendment is simply not enough nor is the letter (also received today) from Marilys Gilbert, WVUH-East Director of Quality and Risk Management where the hospital apologizes for the diagnosis but at them same time implies it is possible Larry is HIV+.

The Regulator’s neonzx responds to Sinclair:

neonzxsays:

[...]

Hey, dipshit! Ms. Gilbert, and the hospital, has no way of knowing if you are HIV+ or not. She “implies” nothing, other than acknowledging your denial. If she is not in receipt of actual test results, she’s not going say you are HIV negative merely on your word alone.

You’re so fucking stupid, Larry.

LOL Gotta love The Regs, their insight into Larry Sinclair is awesome!

In conclusion, Larry Sinclair’s delusions of grandeur and self importance have become a joke around the internet.

For some reason he really believes that his “fifteen minutes of ‘fame’ ” should be extended indefinitely.  Sinclair needs a reality check so I guess I’ll be the one to do it:

Hey Sinclair, nobody cares, nobody’s listening, people who followed you moved on to the birther fiasco…a LONG time ago.  You’re an empty shell and a curiosity.  Bloggers like me only write about you to expose you by virtue of your OWN words and actions.

Mr. Sinclair… “A mind is like a parachute. If it doesn’t open, you’re fucked!”

Some People Say…

Joeymac from The Regulator really sees through Larry Sinclair’s  thick facade of smoke and mirrors and his nefarious activities.  Sinclair has done some pretty nasty things to people by way of his blogs, phone calls and nasty letters, all with impunity.  Joeymac, in my opinion, nails Sinclair’s character and unsettling motives to a tee.

Joeymac - April 1, 2011

I have always maintained the the conniving shit is not crazy, but plays the fool in order the escape consequences of his actions. When he is faced with sure retribution of his conduct, he sufficiently modifies it to avoid the hammer.

When the SS told him that there would be no more foolishness tolerated in regard to WH communications and threats, they ceased–immediately.===> Secret Agent Keller’s phone call here

When the Little Rock sheriff told him to knock it off concerning Lynne Deboth, not another peep.====> Little Rock sherriff call here!

Now, that the sheriff in that WV county is contemplating indicting and extraditing his monkey ass, expect him to cease harassing and maligning officials there.

His behavior is not compulsive; he only does what he expects to walk away from. The telephone harassment of the President’s dying grandmother,

the maligning of the FBI agent in Laredo===>http://theregulator.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/call_to_fbi_agent-regulator_member_robert_henry.mp3, his posing (as a three-time convicted felon) with firearms, are not the actions of a crazy person, but instead, the calculated actions of a sociopath who is convinced that he has immunity from responsibility.

If that sheriff does do what no one else seems willing to do, that is force this lifetime criminal and bully to account for his behavior, a grateful nation will thank him.

UPDATE:  Joeymac has since updated his comments here.  This is a must read if one wants to get to see what the REAL Larry Sinclair is like.

Selling a Lie…

I’m listening to a book called The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack ObamaThe audio book is expansive and covers some 24 hours and 57 minutes worth of material about Barack Obama’s life from childhood to present.  While listening to  a specific portion of the audiobook, I jumped to my PC to type this blog piece because something  simply does not fit in Barack Obama’s story…Larry Sinclair’s vicious lie.

My particular focus is on the Larry Sinclair narrative that tells a story of Barack Obama in 1999 as a crack addict and latent homosexual.

Here is a timeline that is relevant to disspelling the Sinclair narrative:

1991

  • Barack Obama graduates from Harvard with a Juris Doctor magna cum laude.

  • Barack Obama signs with a publisher and begins to write an autobiography titled, Dreams from My Father. In this book Barack Obama discloses his past and personal struggles.

1992

  • Barack Obama returns to Chicago and joins his then girlfriend Michelle Robinson.

  • Barack Obama begins working at the firm of Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Gallard as a junior lawyer, hoping to work on civil rights cases.

  • October 10, 1992 – Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson get married.

  • Barack Obama is teaching constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School.

  • 1992 is an election year. Barack Obama becomes the director of Illinois Project Vote, an organization focused on registering minority voters. Obama registers approximately 100,000 new voters, primarily in the African-American community.

1995

  • Barack Obama’s memoire, Dreams from My Father, is published and receives warm reviews.

  • November 7, 1995 – Barack Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, dies of ovarian cancer.

1996

  • Barack Obama runs for the Illinois State Senate. He wins the Democratic nomination for the seat, and is elected to the Illinois State Senate. Democrats are in the minority and therefore Barack time and again fails to pass his initiatives.

1998

  • Barack and Michelle Obama’s first daughter is born. She is named Malia Ann.

  • Barack is rerelected to the Illinois Senate.

1999

  • Barack Obama runs for Congress. He rival is Rep. Bobby Rush, an experienced politician. During the campaign, a pivotal vote on gun control legislation is due in the State Senate. When the vote comes on the floor, Barack Obama is in Hawaii visiting his 18 months old daughter, Malia, who is ill. The gun control bill does not pass. Barack Obama takes a lot of political heat for not attending the vote and consequently loses the election by a 2 to 1 margin.

  • Barack Obama resumes his work at the Illinois State Senate and in the course of several years succeeds to pass some twenty pieces of legislation.

The point here is that from the time  Obama started Harvard 1988, he made a conscientious decision to change his lifestyle from free-wheeling undergrad to serious scholar.    The drugs and lack of direction caved way to a very focused student who impressed peers and faculty alike with his  knowledge of law and literature as well as focused direction toward achieving his goals, throughout his Harvard years.

Larry Sinclair would have us believe that Obama smoked crack in 1999 when in fact, as mentioned in my writings previously, he was a widely known figure in and outside of his community.  From the time he was elected president of the Harvard Law Review to authoring his book  Dreams from My Father in 1995 to successfully running and winning a seat in the Illinois State Senate.

At the time that Sinclair claims that Obama was a “crackhead” and an on the ”down-low” homosexual, Barack Obama was a highly regarded public figure who would have been known not only within his district, but outside as well.  Obama’s face recognition potential would have been enormous.

To reiterate, Obama decided he needed to focus on what he wanted to accomplish in his lifetime and realized in 1988 that drugs and a lackadaisical attitude was not going to get him very far.   What Sinclair did not count on was documentation and testimony from hundreds of collegues, peers and acquaintances of Barack Obama who have spoken to authors about Obama.  The consensus does not match the LIE.

The author, David Remnick sums it up for us

The Drama Queen Weaves A New “Sensational” Storyline

Larry Sinclair posted (in part) this on his blog on January 14th, 2011:

[...] Turns out that I have had the material all along that would show certain aspects of the now infamous WhiteHouse.com polygraph exam had been planned even before I boarded the plane in Duluth the afternoon of February 21, 2008. I am considering rewriting Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder? in the future to include this information.[...]

Back in March of 2008, shortly after Sinclair took and failed the polygraph test which was initiated by White House dot com owner, Dan Parisi and administered by two well known polygraph experts, Sinclair started losing his “flock” en masse.

Sinclair needed a “hook” to bring his “gravy train” back in the fold and he found one…The Donald Young Invective.

It appears that Sinclair is trying his best to weave another “sensational” tale around the polygraph story and Dan Parisi, who just happens to be suing Sinclair for libel.

Keep in mind that Sinclair has yet to prove ANY of the allegations that he made against Barack Obama.  He has had three years to do so and to this day, he only throws out the same old tired innuendos, speculation and HIS version of what he deems to be facts.   I would say that being sued by Dan parisi is the “jusr dessert” for putting out a “booklet” filled with lies, bitchin’ and distortion of the facts.

Bottom Line:  Larry Sinclair has NO NEW DETAILS of “certain aspects” regarding the polygraph test.  What he is doing is using his same old “smoke and mirrors” routine to avoid addressing the issues.  In the case of Dan Parisi vs. Larry Sinclair, et al, ultimately, Sinclair will have to reveal his source regarding HIS ACCUSATION of a conspiracy between Obama’s administration in The West Wing and Dan Parisi, which he included in his “book”..

To date, he has not and I suspect will not address that issue because it NEVER HAPPENED.  Instead, he’s bullshitting The Court, his last vestige of followers and other “inner circle” types by looking for technicalities rather than addressing the legal issues head on.

Finding and showing  “certain aspects” of how the polygraph had been planned (“even before he left Duluth, MN) is simply superfluous bullshit and does nothing to advance his defense of the libel charges.

What a wacky, quacky duck!

“Just When I Thought I Was Out…”

Hello everyone and welcome back to Sinclair Watch.

Just when I thought I was thoroughly finished reporting on Larry Sinclair and his classic narcissistic machinations, I’m drawn back in.  There is something that Sinclair published in his “new” blog recently, pertaining to the attorney representing Dan Parisi in Parisi’s defamation lawsuit, that hit home personally.

I am working on that article and it will be completed in a few days.

In the mean time I am re-opening this blog with a re-post of a very powerful comment that The Regulator commenter John Freeman had written in July, 2010.   Enjoy.  See you soon…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John Freeman has been watching and commenting on the Larry Sinclair Fiasco for more than two years now.  He posted a comment on The Regulator that I believe should be read by everyone who has an interest in the Sinclair Lies:
John Freeman – July 17, 2010
Despite my constant objections to objectivism, I’ve always been a person that makes decisions about the veracity of claims based on objective observation and evidence.
I’ve been following this long, sordid tale for more than two years now. I’ve helped compile evidence, reason the claims out, debate the salient points, and refute outright lies, as well as other things.
For over two years I’ve witnessed a cadre of people who, for some reason, latch on to stories that are, at best, utterly devoid of evidence and logic and at worse scams.
It’s amazing how nothing has changed with these people in the past two years.
I’ve never understood how their minds work and I’ve never truly attempted to figure it out because part of me fears I would suddenly find myself falling down the rabbit hole or gazing darkly into a mirror.
Despite all of the claims, accusations, assertions, innuendo, and lies not one shred of credible, unbiased, and thoroughly confirmed evidence have ever come from Larry. Just about the only thing that is backed by rock-solid evidence is his criminal record.
Yet people are ready to throw this away if it confirms their predetermined views about Obama. Or, for that matter, anything (look at the recent NAACP dust-up with the Tea Party–I recommend reading Ta-Nahisi Coats).
I remember when I first saw his original video I was compelled to find out more about this, eventually landing at his blog. I read everything he posted and I read all of the Whitehouse forums when they were still up (though I didn’t post there because those people were mostly asshats (it’s where I first met Jay, though).
The more I found out, the more I was skeptical. Eventually I didn’t believe a word he said because he never presented any evidence. I started commenting on his blog just before he debuted his Donald Young accusations. He had never mentioned it until someone brought it up. I remember thinking, as he rolled out his story and accusations on this, that it seemed like he was making everything up on the fly. I demanded evidence when I commented on his blog. I was met with ridicule from his supporters and Larry himself claimed that he didn’t need to prove anything to me. I clashed with Victor almost immediately. He didn’t bother trying to have a conversation. He accused me of bias and having “a personal animus against” Sinclair. I’ll never forget those words. Victor got more and more irrational when I started to tear him apart. Eventually, to get me to shut up, Sinclair pulled his trademark maneuver and rounded up the posse to out me and my personal information. I’ll admit I was stupid to think that I would get a modicum of respect from such irrational and, frankly, disturbed people.
I remember when he unveiled his little PowerPoint about how we were all connected to the Obama campaign. It was laughable, and I was proud to be one of the top “thugs” because it was so preposterous. And the people just lapped it all up like obedient little dogs.
I say all of that because I can affirm that he’s recycling the same garbage he’s always used. Everyone who questions him or takes any action against him is a thug. A paid Obama operative (they even claimed I was David Axelrod’s son–hence, Papa Axelrod). Like they did in the old days, his supporters will use this “article” in the Globe as an example of “journalism” and try to assert the “report” as evidence and support when, usually, they are just rehashing Sinclair’s claims without doing any real reporting or finding any real evidence.
The difference this time is that they roped a sad, hurt, and confused woman into it. There has been no evidence, not ever, linking Obama to Young in any way. In fact, Larry milked this the most at the height of the Jeremiah Wright scandal (remember the picture of the trash barge-like ship on his blog when he made the post about the ship setting sail or some such garbage?). This provides enough reason to doubt his claims. I remember writing an analysis of the original affidavit he submitted to the CPD (I used to have a copy of that but I can’t find it). I think I was the first to point out that the language he used in the affidavit was, at best, mild, and that he used “Mr. Young” when he described who the person was on the phone, and then insinuated it was Donald Young. The whole story he offered just seemed highly unlikely and very vague (as with most of his stories). Trying to debunk it proved difficult because of how vague it was, and his supporters and people on the fence would say that since we couldn’t disprove it that it was either true or it wasn’t false (a handy bit of equivocation).
It’s an oft-repeated conservative bromide that “absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.” This has been the driving factor behind the longevity of Sinclair’s claims. Over the two years many have done their best to look for clues, evidence, or anything else to either confirm or deny what he has said. The first help came in the form of the discovery of his criminal past and the active warrant out of Colorado. The best evidence against Sinclair turned out to be Sinclair himself.
I still can’t understand why anyone would give any credibility (much less money) to a man who has such as large criminal record, a substantial portion of which is fraud.
The issue of Donald Young has been settled in my mind for a long time. There is no question, in my opinion, that Sinclair fabricated his claims. Trotting out a Globe article in which Young’s mother actually says nothing to affirm Sinclair’s claims in any way only leads me to believe this even more. It’s pure exploitation.
I’m not wondering what angle he’s trying to play by the following recent statements: “No amount of money and no high powered DC Law Firm will silence me, my book or the truth about Barack Obama. I will find an attorney out there who is not scared of the Obama admin or the thuggish tactics of Patton Boggs and Richard Oparil.”
I already know what he’s trying to do. It’s a shame for him that he doesn’t have the support that he used to have, because this is a bailiwick for Sinclair. According to this logic, one would have to assume that Sinclair was being honest when he made his claim about Parisi and Axelrod. From that, you extrapolate that this action is being taken by Parisi at the order of the Obama Administration to try to silence Sinclair. The next leap is to assume that Boggs and Oparil are on the take from the Obama Administration, and are, therefore, Obama thugs.
Essentially, it’s the same old story. This is the exact tactic he used in the beginning–even against me. If it is not painfully obvious that he’s full of shit by now, I can’t imagine that anyone who still believes him actually has a grip on reality.
I am very interested to see how this unfolds, though, because he’s not going up against some bloggers that have a dedication to facts and some free times on their hands–he’s going up against lawyers. Paid to be heartless, soulless bastards.
