The Beginning...Sinclair's Second Lie

Larry Sinclair’s first lie was his accusation that he had gay sex and did drugs with then State Senator Barack Obama back in November, 1999.

Sinclair then claimed that the reason he came forward with the You Tube video on January 17, 2008 was because the Obama camp had ignored his repeated calls.  All he wanted Obama to do, according to Sinclair, was to “come clean” about his drug use as an adult.   Sinclair claimed that he saw Obama address some kids about his drug use.   Sinclair told supporters,that’s the reason he contacted the Obama camp in September, 2007.  He wanted Obama to tell the ”truth”, which in Sinclair’s mind was that Obama did drugs as an adult in November, 1999.)

Now here’s where we can tie up loose ends and loose lies:

In the very beginning of The Dossier, Jay pointed out that then Senator Obama had made a visit to a school in which he lectured kids against the use of drugs.  That video is dated November 21, 2007.  Keep that date in mind.

Jay writes in her dossier (pp 173-174):

Obama had written in his memoirs about his prior drug use. Sinclair claimed that he had never read any of Obama’s books. He also claimed that he would have “supported” Obama up until “last fall” until he “saw” Obama speak to a “young person” about his past drug use, where Obama claimed he had stopped doing drugs after his high school years.  Sinclair built the foundation of his allegations on a false date: the month of September.  Larry Sinclair claims he emailed and called the Obama campaign in September 2007: a full two months before the incident he claims caused him to come forward with his story!  

 MSNBC:

Obama today talked to a group of high school students in New Hampshire about his adolescent drug use, drinking alcohol and being a “goof off” in high school. It is certainly not the first time Obama has spoken on the subject of his drug use, but discussed it on the campaign trail: it is the first time he has. Obama wrote at length on it in his best-selling memoir, Dreams from My Father This excerpt is from an article written November 20, 2007. Note that the writer makes reference to this being the “first time” Obama has spoken about his past drug “on the campaign trail”. It’s also the only time  Sinclair could have “seen” Obama addressing a “young person” about his past drug use..

 Let’s put this information into context:

1.   Sinclair contacted the Obama camp in September 2007.

2.   His reason for contacting them was a video he had seen of Obama talking to young kids about drugs.

3.   However, that video was not taken until November, 2007.

Once again, Sinclair repeated this statement in most of the internet radio interviews.   Luckily, Jay researched the information and saw that the foundation for Sinclair’s accusation was in fact A BALD FACED LIE!

Sinclair never addressed Jay’s analysis.  To this day he cannot and has not explained the discrepancy in time, also known as “the second lie”.
